About the project

The project aims at building capacity for small scale farmers on Permaculture design, provide them with technical support on how to implement the gardens as well as daily supervision visits to provide them with support on the maintenance of the gardens, harvesting, food and nutrition and preservation, post harvest handling as well as value addition and marketing. The farmers are provided with starter pack tools, seeds, seedlings, animals and a composting toilet to begin with. The project targets 200 farmers in the first year, 200 in the second year and 200 in the third year, reaching out to a total of  600 farmers  in 3 years’ time. 20 lead farmers are trained to train others and they are also used to multiply seeds and seedlings which are used as a resource base for the follower farmers.
