Day Four of Agro-ecology Training: General Landscape Design – February 27
On the fourth day of the Agro-ecology training, participants were introduced to the principles of general landscape design. The session emphasized the importance of structuring farmland to enhance productivity while conserving natural resources. Topics covered included contour farming, water management strategies, and integrating agroforestry techniques. This hands-on training provided participants with practical knowledge to create sustainable and efficient landscapes for farming.

Ongoing Training in Dowa District, Traditional Authority Mponera – March 3
Currently, NCA Malawi is conducting another five-day intensive Agro-ecology training in Dowa District under Traditional Authority Mponera. This training is focused on equipping lead farmers and Agro-ecology champions with practical knowledge to support sustainable agricultural practices in their communities. The training is being implemented in partnership with NCA-DCA and CADECOM, reinforcing collaborative efforts to build resilient farming systems.

Completion of Five-Day Agro-ecology Training in Ntchisi – February 28
A five-day intensive practical-based Agro-ecology training course was successfully concluded in Ntchisi District. This training marked the second cohort of Agro-ecology champions under the Gift Catalogue Project. Participants engaged in various practical sessions, learning techniques such as soil conservation, organic farming, and integrated pest management. The initiative seeks to empower farmers with skills that promote sustainable agriculture and resilience to climate change.
