Today marked a significant step toward resilient and sustainable agriculture as we conducted a one-day Agroecology Practical Applications Training for lead farmers under the support of Zomba CADECOM and CARD Machinga.

The training brought together a dynamic group of farmers, government extension workers, and field officers from both organizations, creating a collaborative learning environment focused on real-world techniques and practices. The aim was to equip lead farmers with hands-on knowledge to apply agroecological methods in their own fields  and eventually scale that knowledge across their communities.

Through practical demonstrations and peer-to-peer exchanges, farmers gained deeper insights into how agroecology not only boosts yields but also enhances soil health, reduces dependency on synthetic inputs, and builds long-term climate resilience.

The presence of government extension officers and organizational field teams added value by ensuring alignment with local agricultural policies and continued technical support for the farmers going forward.

This training represents more than just a one-day event it’s part of a broader mission to rebuild our food systems from the ground up, with farmers leading the way as stewards of the land and catalysts of change.

Stay engaged as we continue to support sustainable agriculture in Malawi, one village and one farm at a time.
